Mobile car diagnostics in Torquay
A warning light on the dashboard, or not sure what’s wrong with the car? We carry mobile diagnostic equipment to read fault codes at your home, workplace or a safe spot nearby across Torquay — so the car doesn’t have to go anywhere first.

Modern vehicles can show similar symptoms for very different reasons. A diagnostic visit is about narrowing the problem down before replacing parts — reading the fault codes the car has stored, rather than relying on guesswork.
A mobile diagnostics check involves plugging a tool into the car’s OBD port to read those codes. It can help identify issues with the engine, transmission, ABS, airbag system and other electronic components.
Common reasons for mobile diagnostics
Diagnostics can help point us in the right direction, but not every fault can be fixed on the spot. Some problems need parts, specialist equipment or a follow-up visit. The check helps us understand what’s happening so we can advise on the right next step.
When you get in touch, tell us which warning lights are on, when they appeared, whether the car drives normally and any sounds or changes in how it behaves. A photo of the dashboard is genuinely useful.
What diagnostics can and can’t tell you
A mobile diagnostics check reads the stored fault codes from the car’s computer. That can help narrow down warning lights, engine management issues, limp mode, non-starting problems and electrical symptoms — giving a clearer picture of where the problem is likely to be.
It’s a starting point, not always a complete answer. A fault code points towards a system or component but doesn’t always confirm the exact part at fault. Some faults need further testing, may not be present at the time of the check, or may need specialist equipment beyond a standard diagnostic tool. Not every intermittent fault will show up straight away.
After a check, we can explain what the codes suggest, whether the car can be repaired on the spot, and whether parts, a garage or further investigation may be needed.
Warning light on?
If the warning light is red, flashing, or linked to oil pressure, engine temperature, brakes or steering — or the car feels unsafe to drive — stop somewhere safe as soon as you can and seek advice before carrying on.
If it’s safe to do so, take a clear photo of the warning light on the dashboard and include it when you get in touch. It helps us understand the urgency before arriving.
Safety first
If the car is in a dangerous spot, blocking the road, on a fast road, or there’s any immediate risk to you or anyone nearby, please call the emergency services (999) or roadside assistance first. Your safety matters more than the car.
